Top Gun: Maverick ended its first Friday premiere with $ 116.5 million in global ticket sales, a figure that includes $ 19 million in national previews and $ 40.2 million in shows at abroad before its official opening date in North America.
Nationwide, Paramount is tracking a $ 123 million 3-day debut for the sequel, a figure that could rise to $ 150 million if you look at the 4-day vacation weekend. The film premieres in 4,735 locations in the United States and Canada.
Abroad, the film added $ 24.5 million to its count of more than 25,000 screens in 62 international markets. It has already raised $ 64.7 million outside of North America, including previews.
The major overseas markets are led by the United Kingdom, where it opened first on Friday with $ 4 million from 735 locations and a 76% market share. Previews make his UK gross of $ 10 million, making it the biggest release day on the market for a Tom Cruise movie.
Other major markets include France ($ 8.2 million including previews), Australia ($ 4.5 million including previews), Germany ($ 3.9 million), Brazil ($ 3.1 million including previews), Mexico ($ 2.8 million including previews) and Japan ($ 2.6 million).
