A teenager murdered on Friday in Stevenage was “murdered when he returned home from the prom.”

Kajetan Migdal’s 18-year-old family has paid tribute to the “handsome, talented and intelligent” boy who was involved in an incident on Cuttys Lane.

The events took place around 11.20pm yesterday evening (May 27).

Kajetan was taken to Lister Hospital, but died of his injuries early this morning.

A teenager has been arrested as part of an ongoing police investigation.

Kajetan’s aunt has launched a crowdfunding page, which has already raised more than $ 5,000.

She said: “On Friday, May 27, 2022, my handsome, talented and intelligent nephew, Kajetan Migdal, was killed by a complete stranger on his way home from the Stevenage prom.

“As a family, we are deeply moved and devastated by this great loss.

“He had his whole life ahead of him and an exciting summer planned, and a sick and evil individual has taken all this from him and all of us.

“She leaves behind her parents (my sister Gemma and her husband Janusz), along with her little brother Fabian and our extended family all over the world.

“Some people have contacted me to ask how they can help, so I created this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister to help relieve some of the pressure at this difficult time.

“We have a family spread across the UK, then I’m in Texas and it’s been over seven years since I’ve been able to afford to return home to London.

“Our uncle lives in Menorca and the whole Polish Kajetan family is in Poland.

“We would like to bring everyone together to support my sister, her husband and my young son and give Kajetan the funeral she deserves.

“All the money raised will go to our family’s travel and funeral expenses.”
