COVID-19 update on May 29, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 7,100 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 62,604 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 315 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 8 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes seven deaths, dating back to April 9, that were reported yesterday to WA Health: a man in his 60s, a man and a woman in his 70s, a man of about 80 and two men and a woman. in his 90s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

Of the 7,100 cases, 2,523 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 4,577 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 7,627 PCR tests were performed yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 721,110 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
