Eels coach Brad Arthur has revealed that he put “ownership and responsibility” on star striker Reagan Campbell-Gillard to act as a result of his rejection in NSW.
Many people were perplexed after Blues coach Brad Fittler dropped Campbell-Gillard for the second game and then lowered the hierarchical order for the third game.
RCG was overlooked in favor of Jordan McLean and then Jacob Saifiti when Payne Haas was ruled out due to injury.

But neither McLean nor Saifiti have played better than the fit Eels team over the past month.
Campbell-Gillard continued to make Fittler’s decision look tough Saturday night with another good performance against the Tigers.
RCG again led the Eels from the front with a 91-yard run, a drop in innings, a download, 31 tackles and a try in a good performance in the absence of Junior Paulo and Ryan Matterson in the middle.
The striker has been one of Parramatta’s most consistent players all season and after Saturday’s game coach Brad Arthur was asked how RCG had been handled being rejected by Fittler.

“In the end I wasn’t going to use him because I thought he had done his job for us and really led the strikers and never seemed tired at any point and could have stayed out there, but it was a good thing. ‘getting valuable time to our guys from the bench’.
