An Edmonton man has died after falling on Saturday during an excursion to Mount Temple in Banff National Park.
The RCMP in Lake Louise said that shortly before noon on July 9, emergency services received a notification that a man who had been with a group of experienced hikers had lost his footing and slipped on a piece. of snow and ice as he climbed.
With the help of the Parks Canada helicopter, officials said the hiker was found 3,300 feet from the initial site of the fall and had succumbed to his injuries.

In a press release Monday, the Lake Louise RCMP noted that it “sends its condolences to all involved in this tragedy.”

On Monday night, Bruce Kirkland, president and CEO of Lexus in Edmonton, confirmed to Global News that Matt Miller was the man who died.
He said Miller worked at the car dealership for 16 years.
“It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we announce the death of our main and good friend of the dealership, Matt Miller,” he read a post on the car dealership’s Facebook page Monday night.
