The Sydney / North Saanich RCMP is investigating an early morning stabbing at a North Saanich home that sent three people to hospital in serious condition.
The incident took place on Friday, May 27, at a 10000 block residence on Derrick Road.
RCMP officers received a 911 call stating that several people had been seriously injured by someone who was still inside the house.
Arriving officers had to force their way into the residence. Once inside, they located three individuals who had been stabbed several times.
Police officers located the man believed to be responsible and arrested him without incident.
Officers provided first aid to the victims until the scene was deemed safe for paramedics, and all three victims were eventually taken to hospital.
Police said the victims are currently in serious but stable condition and are expected to survive the injuries.
“The officers who responded relied on their training and escalation skills to stop this very agitated and violent person. The RCMP says there is no danger to the public and at this stage of the investigation, the detainee is believed to be known to the victims. They also believe it was an isolated incident.
The detained man remains in police custody awaiting further court proceedings.
Police said they would not give further information about the incident.
