WENCHANG, Hainan, July 24 (Xinhua) — China launched Wentian, the first laboratory module of its space station, on Sunday. The new module will work as a backup to the core module and as a powerful platform for science experiments.
The Long March-5B Y3 launch vehicle, carrying Wentian, blasted off from the Wenchang spacecraft launch site off the coast of the southern island province of Hainan, according to China’s Manned Space Agency. ■
