Chandigarh, July 25
A shootout resulting from a gang war in Vancouver, Canada left gangster Maninder Dhaliwal and friend Satinder Gill dead, according to a report in the Vancouver Sun.
According to the report, the deceased belonged to the Brothers Keepers gang.
The report said: “At the time of the shooting near the Sundial Hotel in the heart of Vancouver’s Whistler Village, gangster Maninder Dhaliwal, 29, was accompanied by friend Satinder Gill, who was not involved in the band”.
Dhaliwal died on the spot, while Gill succumbed to his injuries at a health facility.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed late Sunday that the shooting was related to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.
“Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sea-to-Sky were able to locate and arrest several people,” said Sergeant Timothy Pierotti, adding that a burning vehicle later found in the 3300 block of Ptarmigan Place was linked to the killings.
