The eastbound collector lanes on the 401 Freeway at Victoria Park Avenue have fully reopened after being closed Friday due to an accident.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said shortly after 1pm Friday that officers were on the scene of a single-vehicle crash in the eastbound collector lanes between Warden and Kennedy roads.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital without vital signs, Schmidt said.
Schmidt later said the 75-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“We’re working with the coroner right now to determine the cause, determining whether or not this incident is the result of a collision or a medical episode,” Schmidt said.

The eastbound collector lanes were closed in the area for the investigation, but the express lanes remained open.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., the OPP said on Twitter that all lanes were reopened.
