A water slide attraction lights up at Canada’s Wonderland water park

Canada’s Wonderland water park is closed Monday after a fire broke out on one of the water slide attractions.

In a statement, the park said the “small structure fire” happened around 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

“Since Splash Works had closed at 6 p.m., the affected areas of the park were free of guests and the remaining associates were evacuated,” the statement said.

“Emergency crews responded, there were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”

York Regional Police said on Twitter that the park was evacuated “as a precaution” due to the smoke.

Splash Works water park will be closed Monday, Canada’s Wonderland said.
