Arrests for murder after man dies at Canford Cliffs in Poole

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the “sudden” death of a man at a Poole property.

The body of a man in his 40s was discovered at an address on Bessborough Road in the Canford Cliffs area shortly before midnight on Saturday.

A 42-year-old local woman and a 43-year-old man from Wimbledon in London have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both were known to the victim.

The man’s death is being treated as “unexplained” and inquiries are ongoing.

A cordon is currently in place while crime scene investigations are carried out.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 11.48pm on Saturday 13 August 2022 to reports of the sudden death of a man at an address on Beesborough Road in Canford Cliffs area of ​​Poole.

“Officers attended and discovered the body of a man aged in his 40s. His family and the coroner have been informed.

“At this time, the death is being treated as unexplained and the circumstances surrounding it are being investigated.

“A cordon is in place at the address and crime scene inquiries are being carried out, along with house-to-house enquiries.

“A 42-year-old local woman and a 43-year-old man from Wimbledon in London have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both were known to the victim.”

Police said there will be an increased police presence in the area as investigations progress and officers from the local neighborhood policing team can be approached by members of the community with any specific concerns or issues.
