Final Fantasy 16 will arrive in the summer of 2023, new trailer released

Square Enix unveiled a new trailer and offered a launch window for its upcoming Final Fantasy main game, Final Fantasy 16, at Sony’s Game Status presentation on Thursday. Final Fantasy 16 is now slated for release in the summer of 2023, and a new trailer reveals new details of the story about the world of Valisthea and the clashes that will shape her world.

Final Fantasy 16 is currently being developed by Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit III, with Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy 14) as the game’s producer. The game is expected to be released on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The new trailer featured battles of epic proportions, including fights between magical invocations like Shiva, Titan and Ifrit.

The new trailer, called “Dominance,” featured a fight that resembled the game of a fighting game. According to Yoshida, the new game will feature unique “high octane battles” for the game’s Eikons, which is the name of this game for summoning. A post on the PlayStation blog featured two new characters: Hugo Kupka and Benedikta Harman, both known in their world as Dominants, due to their ability to channel the power of Eikons like Titan and Garuda.

Final Fantasy 16 was delayed in December, and developers cited complications related to COVID-19. In April, Yoshida said the game was in the “final stages” of development and drew up another week later to say the game was in debugging stages and would soon get a new trailer.

Final Fantasy 16 follows the journey of a warrior named Clive Rosfield, who, according to the appearance of the previous trailers, could be destined to follow a tragic path that ends in a conflict between him and his younger brother, Joshua Rosfield. The trailers have shown all the usual elements that we have come to associate with the Final Fantasy franchise, such as chocobos, ether and calls known as Ifrit and Shiva.
