Vincent Kompany is in talks to become Burnley’s new coach after Anderlecht confirmed he will leave the Belgian club.
Sportsmail revealed in April that Kompany was a candidate to replace Sean Dyche in Turf Moor, and the 36-year-old former Manchester City defender is understood to be looking to return to the north-west of where he is. family of his wife Carla.

A statement said: “The club and the coach have discussed the past season and discussed plans for the future.
“The two sides have decided to separate by mutual agreement. This decision was taken with great mutual respect and gratitude for all that has been achieved between all of them.
“The club wishes Vincent Kompany all the best in his new career as a coach. He was, is and will continue to be an icon of the club and will always find a home at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht.”
