After much criticism for its lack of first-half titles in the calendar year 2022, Microsoft says it is “on track” to release at least five first-half games next year.
In a media briefing, the company says it released five such titles this fiscal year (ending June 30). They were “Forza Horizon 5”, “Halo Infinite”, “Microsoft Flight Simulator”, “Psychonauts 2” and “Age of Empires IV”, all of which arrived late last year.
Then they say that “we are on track to reach or exceed this amount in the next fiscal” ending June 2023. So far, Bethesda’s “Redfall” and “Starfield”, recently delayed, are the only confirmed titles in this group. .
However, the official Xbox releases of titles that are already available on PlayStation and PC: “Deathloop” and “Ghostwire: Tokyo” – could also fit into that description. Both games are expected to make the leap to Xbox before next June.
“Avowed”, “Hellblade: Senua’s Saga”, “State of Decay 3” and most likely “Forza Motorsport” could compete for the remaining seats depending on when they are ready. Others, however, like “Everwild,” “Perfect Dark,” and “Fable,” are said to be further away.
Microsoft’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase will be held on Sunday, June 12th.
