1. The response to the 2020 Super Bowl half-time show with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira was overwhelmingly positive except for people who felt offended by ass shaking.
However, one person who wasn’t exactly thrilled with the show half time before it took place was J.Lo.
In an upcoming Netflix documentary, Halftime, (coming out June 14) about his career, the Super Bowl LIV half-time program is widely covered and reveals that Lopez had several issues with the NFL during the show.
For starters, Lopez was frustrated because she couldn’t have the concert for herself.
“This is the worst idea in the world for two people to do the Super Bowl,” Lopez told his music director. “It was the worst idea in the world.”
Much of López’s frustrations were the time constraints of having to do the show with another performer.
“We have six f —— minutes. We have 30 seconds of a song, and if we take a minute, that’s it, we have five left,” López complained. “But there must be certain songs. that we sing, however. We need to have our singing moments. It won’t be a dance f —— magazine. We have to sing our message. “
López’s manager, Benny Medina, also expressed his disappointment with the documentary because his client had to share the focus with another performer.
“You usually have a headliner in a Super Bowl,” Medina said. “This headliner is building a show, and if they decide to have other guests, this is their choice. It was an insult to say you need two Latinos to do the work that an artist has historically done.”
“If he was going to be a double-headed poster, they should have given us 20 minutes,” Lopez said in the documentary. “That’s what they should have ——- done.”
The singer / actress / dancer also struggled with the NFL during a part of the half-time show featuring children in cages. Once the NFL found out the night before the Super Bowl, they asked Lopez to remove the cages.
“We dropped the rehearsal and I realized everyone was freaking out, but I don’t know why,” Lopez says. “I get a call from Benny, and he says, ‘They want to throw the cages out.’
In a rare loss to the NFL, Lopez refused to pull the cages and showed her how he wanted to, except to do it alone.

3. Draymond Green, after a brutal game against the Celtics last night, made it clear that he will be going to podcast after the games, whatever happens. I know fans fly and think that after a game, players go back to their hotel rooms, put on their pajamas, drink a glass of milk, and watch Netflix before they get some sleep. Newsflash: They don’t. Some players play video games all night, some go to a restaurant, some enjoy a gentlemen’s club, and so on and so forth.
So stop worrying about Green doing a podcast after a game. Not a big deal.
4. Jimmy, from Jimmy Kimmel Live, did his annual part going up to date with the media in the NBA Finals, and he was as good as ever.
5. Pat McAfee received a call from an 8-year-old boy on his show on Wednesday and no one could have predicted how the conversation would end.
6. After 13 straight defeats, all of the Angels beaters used a Nickelback song as music last night in hopes of changing the mojo.
The Angels lost to the Red Sox, 1-0, and the streak of losses is 14.
