Russian forces attack 40 cities in Donbas – Ukraine

Russian forces have attacked more than 40 cities in the eastern regions of Donbas and Luhansk, the Ukrainian military said.

“Occupiers fired on more than 40 cities in the Donetsk and Luhansk region, destroying or damaging 47 civilian sites, including 38 houses and a school. As a result of the bombing, five civilians were killed and 12 were injured.” , explained the Joint Task Force of Ukraine. the armed forces told Facebook.

Last month, Russia focused on taking full control of the Donbas region.

Russia has sent thousands of troops to the region, attacking from three sides in an attempt to encircle Ukrainian forces resisting the cities of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. Its fall would leave the entire Luhansk province under Russian control, a key target of the Kremlin war.

On Sunday, Luhansk Governor Serhiy Gaidai had accused Russia of taking a “scorched earth approach” in its efforts to capture Severodonetsk.

Gaidai warned that Russian forces had destroyed all but one of the bridges over the Donets River and said the city was in danger of being cut off.
