A frantic search for a boat is underway off the coast in Perth, after authorities received an urgent call in May.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority received a call for assistance from a boat with three people on board, 70 nautical miles off the coast, shortly before 4 p.m.
It was reported that a boat started taking water before asking for help.
Fremantle water police were deployed along with a rescue plane to search for the boat.
“AMSA has commissioned the Perth-based Challenger rescue aircraft to conduct an air search and has issued a shipping issue to assist all ships in the area,” the AMSA spokesman said.
It is understood that no trace of a ship or people in danger has been located so far.
