Prime Minister Anthony Albanese signing an agreement to prioritize “climate gestures” amid an energy crisis could be “signing his own political death warrant,” says Sky News presenter Chris Kenny.
Albanese and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen signed a letter to the United Nations promising to reduce Australia’s emissions by at least 43% by 2030.
“That’s all, instead of making sure you have enough electricity, there are no interruptions and that your electricity is affordable,” Kenny said.
“Albanese and Bowen, in the midst of an energy crisis, have bowed to the UN and promised to further reduce our emissions.
“The political moment is unthinkable.”
