The suspect “emptied the safe” during the early morning entrance

An amount of cash was taken away when a thief “emptied the safe” of a business Friday morning, according to police.

Officers were called to the Woolwich Street business, near Speedvale Avenue West, around 3:20 p.m. The owner reported that an intrusion had occurred two hours earlier, Guelph police said in a statement.

According to reports, video surveillance shows a man using a tool to open an outside door around 1:15 p.m. Inside an office, the man opened a second door and pulled cash out of a safe.

At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood raised, blue jeans, white and gray shoes, black gloves and a black backpack.
