Parks Canada says a hiking trail, located on the outskirts of Banff City, is closed after officials said the area was flooded.
Officials issued the alert for and around Fenland Trail on Thursday.
A high-flow warning is also in place for Banff National Park, but officials said conditions were expected.
“Rivers and streams are prone to high water levels at this time of year,” the park wrote on its Facebook page.
“As such, the Fenland Trail and its environs have been closed due to flooding.”
Closure will be maintained until further notice.
Anyone who violates the notice is subject to a fine of up to $ 25,000, Parks Canada said.
