Severe storm watch issued; strong winds, possible nickel hail

With a cold front entering the area, Environment Canada has issued a severe storm watch for the Sault area as a storm line approaches.

“Conditions are favorable for the development of severe storms that may be able to produce strong wind gusts, heavy hail and heavy rains,” said a warning issued by Environment Canada.

Wind gusts of up to 90 km / h and nickel-sized hail with heavy local showers are also possible.

The clock was issued for areas that include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph’s Island
  • Searchmont – Montreal River Harbor – Batchawana Bay

Meanwhile, a severe storm warning has been issued in the Agawa Park and Lake Superior area.
