A schoolgirl who died after being hit by a van has been named Lexi McDavid.
The 12-year-old from Huyton died after being hit by a white Mercedes van when she got off a bus on Princess Drive on Tuesday, June 7th. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 3:30 p.m., and Lexi was rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she died shortly thereafter.
Police have confirmed that the driver of the van remained at the scene and continues to assist the police with investigations into the incident. They are now calling for anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information about the incident to contact them.

Detective Sergeant Andy Roper of the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts and condolences are on the family of Lexi, who lost her life at a tragically young age, and are receiving the support of specialized officers.
“An investigation is underway and we ask that anyone who has witnessed the collision or captured anything on the dashboard or other devices and has not yet submitted it do so as soon as possible. Your “Information could be vital to our investigation. All information will be acted upon directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers.”
