A 14-year-old boy was arrested after stabbing a 13-year-old boy in a park

A 13-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a Trafford park. Police say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident in Seymour Park earlier.

Officers arrived at the scene around 5:10 p.m. The child is said to be in stable condition in hospital.

A section of the park was recorded while the investigation continued this evening. The 13-year-old was found with stab wounds and was treated by emergency services, and has since been taken to hospital.

GMP Trafford District Inspector Matthew Harvey said: “Officers have moved quickly to make an arrest and the suspect is being questioned in custody. Our investigations are continuing and we will have additional officers in the area tonight. and over the weekend.

“Crime with a knife can have devastating consequences and the public wants to see police officers challenging those who cause the problems. I want to assure the community that we continue to work closely with our partner agencies to ensure that we keep Trafford and the wider community. Great Manchester., Safe and damage free.
