A 16-year-old Londoner faces charges of driving with a disability after a weekend accident

A 16-year-old from London, Ont. faces several charges for driving with disabilities following a car accident in the southern tip of the city early Saturday morning, according to police.

The London Police Service (LPS) said that on May 28 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Commissioners Road West and Wonderland Road South after a citizen reported a collision. injury with a single vehicle.

Witnesses saw the driver of the car flee the scene on foot before police arrived.

A description of the driver has been made and, with the assistance of the LPS Canine Unit, he has made a record of the area. A young man allegedly involved in the crash was located and arrested in the Westmorland Road and Eaton Park Drive area, according to police.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old man – who cannot be named under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act – was charged with the following offenses:

Defendant is scheduled to appear in London court on July 4 in connection with the charges.
