A 30-year-old man has died after a shooting in Toronto on Wednesday night, according to police and paramedics.
The shooting took place in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Mossbank Drive, east of Scarborough Golf Club Road. Police said they are looking for several suspects.
Several people who called said they heard a gunshot at 8 p.m. and saw someone lying on the ground, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds.
Const. Alex Li, a spokesman for the Toronto Police Service, confirmed that the man was dead. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Officers recorded a large area outside a residential building and on Wednesday night were visiting the neighborhood.
Police urge citizens to be careful in the area.
