The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim of a shooting that took place on June 30 in Port Coquitlam as 37-year-old Mehdi “Damien” Eslahian.

The IHIT said Eslahian was known to police and is calling the murder “targeted” but not related to the “ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict”.
“To further identify witnesses and associates, the victim’s name is being revealed,” the BC RCMP sergeant said. David Lee.
“A timeline of Mr.’s movements is being built. Eslahian. IHIT researchers are looking to speak with Mr. Eslahian to determine their activities “.

The incident took place around 1 a.m. on 2700 Island Davies Avenue in Port Coquitlam.
Police are looking for images from the dashboard or CCTV camera in the area, as well as any images of Hastings Street and Lougheed Highway between 10pm on June 29 and 2am on June 30.
