Police and SafeWork SA are investigating after a man was found dead in an electrical pit in northeast Adelaide.

Emergency services were called to the scene on North East Road in Walkerville around 9:30 a.m., after the man did not respond at the home’s construction site.

Police say the 39-year-old Seaford man died at the scene and there were no suspicious circumstances.

He was an electrician who had been working at an on-site meter box run by Metricon Homes.

The southbound lane of North East Road has been closed between Ascot Avenue and St Andrews Street for part of this morning.

In another incident, the Ambulance Service SA said a 46-year-old man suffered an electric shock in Kilburn while using a pressure washer.
