A car collides with a group of people during a coup and an escape to St Helens

A GROUP of people have been hospitalized after a car collided with them during a collision in St Helens.

At around 9.30pm on Friday 8 July, police were called to report a woman who had been found lying on North Road.

Officers spoke to witnesses at the scene, and it is believed that before the incident a fight had broken out between a group of people.

During the riots, it was reported that a Ford Fiesta crashed into several people.

It is then believed that the vehicle left the site and was found abandoned a short distance away.

A 30-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were taken to hospital with head injuries and a 40-year-old woman with back and face injuries.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

A 20-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have been arrested as fight suspects.

The incident is being investigated and investigations are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said: “Our investigations are in the early stages as we seek to establish what happened last night. We are conducting house-to-house inquiries, CCTV and witnesses and we ask anyone who can help with our inquiry please contact us.
