An “aggressive” customer has been caught in shocking images by throwing two cups of hot coffee directly at a barista.
The man had offered to pay for the coffee of an unknown woman at Rosehill’s Soul Bowl Café in west Sydney on Thursday morning, when things suddenly turned ugly.
The woman turned down the offer, but the man insisted and tried to give the bartender money for his drink.
When the bartender said he would not charge the man for the extra coffee, he “exploded” and threw the drinks directly in his face, leaving the staff member with burn marks and a swollen eye.
The owner of the cafe, Lilly, said the customer was very “aggressive” and had previously been shouting horrible racial insults at the 27-year-old Nepali worker, including the “Indian dog fucker”.

“The bartender took the physical part of the incident as a man, but the abuse, insults and racial insults hurt him,” he told the Daily Mail Australia.
“When I arrived I was about to cry.”
The staff member, who was wet, did not need medical treatment, but he did have red marks on his face due to the hot liquid.
He was told to go home, but instead chose to stay and finish his shift after his wife brought him a pair of dry clothes to change into.
The man had tried to pay for another woman’s coffee, but when she refused and the bartender didn’t take the money, he “exploded” and sprayed it with coffee.
Lilly has spoken to police who arrived at the cafeteria after the customer fled and is investigating the incident.
The horrific footage of the assault was shared on Lilly’s Instagram account of the cafe, who said the man had already been identified by numerous locals.
‘Disgusting is an understatement. We feel sick. Furious! ‘ wrote in an Instagram post.
“For someone to wake up on the wrong side of life and do it with our staff to make them feel insecure is something WE WILL NOT TOLERATE !!!”
The cafe owner said the staff member who received the coffee had been at the store since it opened three years ago and was “loved and adored by everyone.”
The client is about 30 years old and has been described as having a Mediterranean or oriental appearance.
