A dead man after trying to rescue a man who was drowning in Lake BC

Kelowna’s RCMP says a man has died from drowning on Lake Wood on Saturday.

Witnesses told the RCMP that several sailors located two men in danger and, according to the RCMP, the man drowned trying to help another passenger in the water.

“A man was rescued with a life jacket, but unfortunately the second man, who was taken back to Oyama’s boat to meet with the first officials, died,” the corporal said. RCMP of Kelowna. Judith Bertrand.

RCMP officers from Lake Country and Kelowna responded to the incident around 7.30pm BC Coroner Services also went to the scene and have taken charge of the investigation.

“We want to congratulate the people who collaborated with the rescue efforts. Wearing and having easy access to life jackets made a significant difference in the outcome of this tragic event.”
