A body was found next to Mission Creek on a flooded property.

The Kelowna RCMP told Castanet that the sad discovery was made shortly after 5pm at block 3600 of Berard Rd. near MacMillan Farms in Kelowna, BC.

“The owner of a farm reported that he had found a body on his flooded property adjacent to Mission Creek,” says RCMP spokesman Const. Mike Della-Paolera.

RCMP officers have secured the area and the British Columbia Forensic Service has been notified and is on its way.

At this time it is not confirmed that the body is that of Chelsea Cardno, who disappeared upstream from that place on June 14, 2022. Cardno’s disappearance led to an intensive search by the RCMP and Central Okanagan Search. and Rescue, another search was scheduled to begin Saturday. morning.

Out of respect for Chelsea Cardno’s family and close friends, the RCMP is asking the public to avoid the area.

“The RCMP has notified the Cardno family and offered all available support,” said Inspector Beth McAndie, an officer in the RCMP’s Kelowna investigation service.

At this time, the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Support Team will continue to work in conjunction with the British Columbia Forensic Service, which has now taken over the conduct of this investigation.
