The death toll on the Isle of Man TT in 2022 has risen to five after Roger and Bradley Stockton died in a sidecar crash.
The incident took place in the Ago’s Leap section on Friday (local time) and claimed the lives of both 56-year-old veteran Roger and his 21-year-old son and passenger.
It is the fourth fatal crash of the 2022 edition, with Mark Purslow, Davy Morgan and Cesar Chanal all killed in separate incidents.
A statement from the Isle of Man TT organizers confirmed the latest tragic news.
“With a deep sense of sadness, the Isle of Man TT races can confirm that Roger Stockton, 56, and Bradley Stockton, 21, of Crewe, Cheshire, both died in a second and second incident. last lap of the second sidecar race of the 2022 Isle of Man TT races, “the statement said.
“The incident happened in Ago’s Leap, just under a mile from the lap.
“Roger and Bradley were father and son, and driver and passenger, respectively.
“Roger was an experienced TT competitor, with today’s race marking his twentieth start.
“He competed in the TT regularly from 2000 to 2008, before returning in 2010, 2017 and this year’s event.
“In his career, he reached a total of 12 finals between the top 20 and four top 10, as well as 10 bronze replicas.
“Bradley was a newcomer to TT and finished his first TT race on Monday, securing an impressive eighth place alongside his father.
“2022 was their fifth season competing together, and Roger and Bradley were regular podium finishers and first in the British F2 Sidecar Cup, finishing second in the 2021 championship.
“The Isle of Man TT Races convey their deepest condolences to the families, loved ones and friends of Roger and Bradley.”
