LOS ANGELES (KABC) – More than 100 firefighters prevented a brush fire in Hollywood Hills from spreading to homes after a fierce fight Monday night.
According to authorities, the fire quickly burned at least one acre, as it was fed by a medium to heavy brush.
The Coyote fire was first reported around 9:30 p.m. on Block 3600 on N Barham Boulevard, above a dog park near the Ava Apartment complex.
At least four falling helicopters helped fight the fire from the air. Teams from the Los Angeles County Fire Department also joined the shooting as part of mutual aid.
At one point, the fire began to burn toward Coyote Canyon and beyond any structure, according to LAFD.
No evacuation orders have been issued or homes damaged. No injuries were reported.
Teams will stay in the area overnight to turn off any hot spots.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
