A former surfer champion has shared the moment his nephew survived a shark attack while predators piled up beaches in Australia.

Beach enthusiasts were warned of huge sharks following swimmers on Frenchman Beach amid the news of the terrifying attack.

The annual whale migration began last weekend near the famous beach in Queensland, Australia.

Russell Specht of Stradbroke Island recalled his nephew’s experience and urged tourists to be aware of the hidden dangers as thousands of hunchbacks migrate to the east coast.

He said his lifeguard nephew Logan had a “very close call” while sailing and posted an aerial photo of the killer shark.

In an Instagram post, the uncle said, “I had to put the board between him and a big white … he thought it was over. I had to post something because too many tourists have no idea .

“Many locals and tourists in the crew have no idea [amount of] whites following the whales and the schools of mullets up and down [the] coast at this time of year “.

Russell’s warning came after a huge white target threatened surfers at Frenchman’s Beach over the weekend.

He recalled the “carnage” of another episode when a shark bit his friend’s leg and another spot on North Stradbroke Island where another surfer was attacked by a shark.

Whales travel to warmer waters along the east coast of Australia between June and August each year to mate.

This brings a large number of dangerous sharks to the area.

In March, images of a shark swimming off the west coast of Australia appeared before disappearing into deeper water.

In February, a 35-year-old surfer was killed after being attacked by a large 15-foot target off the coast of Little Bay in Sydney.

Viewers were horrified from the beach as the predator jumped out of the water in what was the first shark death in the area in nearly 60 years.

Last year, a group of Sydney fishermen discovered a 900-pound giant tiger shark after fighting the sea creature.

White grains can grow up to almost 20 feet long and weigh up to 120 pounds. Australia recorded 18 shark attacks last year, including three deaths.
