A magnitude 3 earthquake has struck near Kilcoy, northwest Brisbane, Geoscience Australia reports.
The quake was detected at 1:25 p.m.
No reports of damage.
Geoscience Australia said 20 people reported hearing the quake, which was 10 kilometers deep.
Its epicenter was located in Aguilar National Park near Mount Byron.
Residents of the Somerset and Moreton Bay regions have posted reports of the quake on social media.
“I was at home in Narangba, eating my lunch, and I heard that rumble, like a shock,” Sue told ABC Radio Brisbane.
“It was like a bang and then there was a rumble, and then the house shook.”
Andrew Samford told ABC Brisbane that he felt “a great tremor in the Samford Valley area” which “shook the house”.
Trembling was heard in parts of the CBD in Brisbane and office workers heard the commotion.
“My desk was shaking. The building was resonating. It was very small but still noticeable,” Cassie said from her Garden’s Point office.
