A 31-year-old man has been accused of murdering his grandmother in south London.
Verushan Manoharan is due to appear in court on Thursday later after being charged with stabbing 89-year-old Sakunthala Francis to death.
Emergency services were called to a house on Brigstock Road, Croydon, around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday. Paramedics tried to save the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Manoharan was arrested shortly afterwards at another Croydon address. He has to attend Croydon Magistrates Court, metropolitan police said.
