Police say Mississauga father and daughter were pulled out of the water by spectators after their inflatable boat capsized
ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE NEWS PRESS RELEASE ****************************** On June 4, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Police Wellington County (OPP) Ontario Provincial responded to a report of a possible drowning by the Grand River Conservation Authority in Rockwood. A 33-year-old man and a 7-year-old woman, a Mississauga father and daughter, were reportedly pulled out of the water by spectators after the inflatable boat overturned.
OPP, the Guelph / Eramosa Fire Department and the Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service responded. The 33-year-old man was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The 7-year-old boy was treated at the scene.
The OPP is still investigating and would like to know of anyone who has witnessed the events. Call 1-888-310-1122 if you haven’t spoken to researchers.
