A man has been arrested after stealing a car with a four-month-old baby in the back seat in Adelaide this morning.

SA police say a 37-year-old man from Para Hills has been arrested today at the CBD in Adelaide.

Police took him to the city watchtower this evening in the back of a wagon.

Police are currently interviewing the man, and charges are expected to be filed this evening.

SA police said a Honda Jazz was stolen around 7:45 a.m. in front of a charcuterie shop on Klemzig’s Fourth Avenue.

The boy was inside the car at the time with the boy’s mother, a 29-year-old woman, inside the charcuterie shop at the time.

The car was found in Enfield two hours later.

The boy was reunited with his mother at the scene, and police said he was “healthy and safe” after being assessed by paramedics.

Police said the mother was not to blame for her actions, and called the robbery “minor.”

A second man was arrested at the same CBD home in Adelaide with a separate pending warrant.
