One man has died and another is in hospital after the two were stabbed in front of a banquet hall in Mississauga Monday morning.
Peel regional police say they were called to the Mississauga Grand Banquet and Event Center at 35 Brunel Road in the Britannia Road and Hurontario Street area at 2:25 a.m. for a stabbing.
Const. Mandeep Khatra said officers found a man with no vital signs on the sidewalk, suffering from “obvious signs of trauma.”
Police tried to administer CPR to this man, but he could not be resurrected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was taken to a hospital trauma center for treatment.
The suspects involved in the incident fled before police arrived.
A vehicle from the police mobile command center was seen in the parking lot of the banquet hall while officers were gathering evidence.
Investigators wearing suits focused on the southwest corner of the banquet hall parking lot.
Khatra said police will secure images from surveillance cameras at the scene.
