Quick water rescue in the stream

The Kelowna Fire Departments Swift Water Team went into action Sunday afternoon to assist in a rescue.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., emergency crews were called after a young man crossed KLO Creek in the Scenic Canyon Park area.
The male could not cross the stream again.
“The first crew to arrive reported that a member of the RCMP and his dog were also on the other side of the stream with a male patient. Once the team contacted the patient, he set up a high line and the patient and RCMP members were taken back across the stream to safety. BC An ambulance was on the scene and transported the patient to KGH with unknown injuries, “he said. section captain Corrie Lang.
The Kelowna Fire Department responded with a quick water rescue team, an all-terrain vehicle, a bush truck, an engine, two utility vehicles and a command vehicle. A total of 12 troops attended the scene.
The Kelowna Fire Department reminds residents that all local streams flow very fast.
“Be extremely careful when you are in the area of these waterways,” Lang added.
