A man is in hospital after being shot Thursday morning in the Old St. Vital of Winnipeg.
Agents went to St. Mary’s Road and Essex Avenue around 5:30 a.m. to investigate a report that a man had been shot dead.
An injured man, about 20 years old, was rushed to hospital in critical condition and is currently listed as unstable, a police spokesman said in an email that initially described the incident as an aggression.
The northbound lanes of St. Mary’s Road was cut for several hours in the area where the man was found.
They reopened around 8 a.m., but police still have a section of Essex Avenue blocked.
