A man was stabbed at a Chinese restaurant in central Birmingham in a “targeted” attack.

A man was stabbed in a Chinese restaurant in a “targeted” attack on Birmingham city center. The victim, about 40 years old, was stabbed at a bar in the bustling Southside neighborhood after being stabbed at a downtown restaurant on Saturday, June 11th.

Paramedics were alerted to the restaurant, known as XiaoFanHe, between Horse Fair and Thorp Street. West Midlands police closed the scene as shoppers and spectators at the nearby Birmingham Racecourse theater watched around 5:50 p.m.

The man was taken to hospital for stab wounds. West Midlands police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers believed the stabbing was a “targeted attack,” the force said. They wanted to hear from anyone with information to help with their research.

A West Midlands police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a man was stabbed in Birmingham city center last night (June 11). from 5:50 p.m.

“A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital, but fortunately his injuries are not serious. We believe it was a targeted attack.
