A California man carrying at least one gun near Brett M. Kavanaugh’s home in Maryland has been arrested by police after he told officers he wanted to kill the Supreme Court judge, according to people familiar with the investigation.
The man, described as about 20 years old, was found to be carrying at least one weapon and tools of theft, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to speak of an ongoing investigation. Apparently, police received a notification that the person could pose a threat to justice, but it was not immediately clear who gave the initial clue, those people said. The man apparently did not reach Kavanaugh’s property in Montgomery County, but was stopped on a nearby street, those people said.
