A Newmarket resident has died after a collision near the town of Scugog on Friday evening.
Durham police officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Scugog Line 12 at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Investigators say a 2007 black Honda sedan was traveling east when it veered off the road on the north side, partially overturning and hitting a tree.
The 55-year-old driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and closed the road for several hours. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to call Detective Bill Scott at 905-579-1520 ext. 5217.
