A woman’s body was found days after a human leg was discovered on a road in the Northern Territory.
Detective Sergeant Major Paul Morrissey said police will allege that a driver hit an Aboriginal woman on Stuart Hwy near Darwin.
The 23-year-old driver was allegedly speeding down the freeway when the woman was hit on Monday night.

A 50-year-old woman allegedly helped move the woman’s body to a Virginia location to try to cover up the crime.
Morrissey said police found the body “partially hidden” Wednesday night.
“The condition of the body was consistent with the impact of the vehicle,” he said Thursday.

Both the man and the woman were arrested and two cars confiscated.
No charges have been filed yet. The duo is expected to be charged on Thursday.
The couple is not believed to be related to the victim.
Morrissey said the incident was “very worrying.”
“It’s one thing not to help and report the matter, but to go further and try to hide a crime, it’s very terrible,” he said.
Morrissey said Wednesday that a forensic pathologist determined the accident “could survive, but (the injured person) would need medical treatment as soon as possible.”
An autopsy will be performed on Thursday and the victim has not yet been formally identified.
