A shooting has been reported at the Bozeman Walmart

UPDATE: 31/7/2022, 22:07 – According to a Bozeman Police Department social media post, at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022, officers responded to Walmart after receiving multiple reports of a shooting inside the store. store

“Officers located a male victim and detained a male suspect. It appears there was an altercation between the two males that led to the shooting. There does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the public. Please avoid the Walmart area as multiple agencies continue to process the scene and interview witnesses.”

UPDATE: 31/07/2022, 22:00 – MTN News has attempted to interview other Walmart employees leaving the scene, but they say it is against company policy to speak to the media.

UPDATE: 31/7/2022, 21:47 – Bozeman Police are asking the public to stay away from the Walmart area at 7th and Oak St. The area and store will remain closed for several hours while police interview witnesses and employees and try to piece together exactly what happened.

UPDATE: 31/7/2022, 9:29 p.m – A Bozeman public information officer has confirmed that one person is seriously injured.

BOZEMAN – Bozeman Police and a Walmart employee have confirmed that there was a shooting incident at the Bozeman Walmart Sunday evening.

According to BPD, one person is in the hospital and MTN News saw one person in custody shortly after 9 p.m.

An incident command center has been set up in the former Kmart parking lot across from Walmart.

Please avoid the area at this time.
