A Sikh shot dead at a nightclub in Toronto, Canada

A 26-year-old Sikh man has died after being seriously injured in a shooting at a nightclub in Toronto, Canada.

The man has been identified as Pardeep Brar and was residing in Brampton after treatment.

Police said a 24-year-old woman was also injured in the incident, but was discharged from the hospital.

Police have not yet released information about the suspect.

Pardeep Brar was injured early Sunday, along with a 24-year-old woman at 647 King St. W., near Bathurst Street, Toronto police said Monday in a press release.

Officers were called to the scene at 3:33 a.m., cbc.ca reports.

Toronto paramedics took Brar and the woman to the hospital. It remains to be seen whether the shooting was targeted or not.
