Vancouver Police Department spokesman sgt. Steve Addison said the 30-year-old woman was walking alone around 3:30 a.m. when two masked men approached her and tried to rob her.
“He went out for a walk and took care of his own business,” Addison said. “While they were trying to rob her, they assaulted her. They punched her, punched her in the elbow and severely wounded her. It was a blitz-style attack.”
Addison said the woman’s nose was broken and she received other facial wounds and required hospitalization.
Because the attackers were masked, police have no good descriptions and have increased police presence in the neighborhood and are looking for people in the community, he said.
“People should be able to live their lives, walk without having to look over their shoulder for fear that someone will attack them and people should not change their behavior because other people make them feel insecure,” he said. Addison. .
