Police are making an appeal for witnesses after a collision between several vehicles left a 71-year-old man dead in Brampton.
The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m. Thursday in the Main Street North and Vodden Streat East area.
Police say a 71-year-old man from Brampton was driving west on Vodden Street East when he was hit by another vehicle traveling north at the intersection.
The man was released from his vehicle and rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police allege that after the collision, the driver of the other vehicle left the scene before being arrested by officers.
The suspect, whom police have identified as Denise Herbert, 48, of Vaughan, has been charged with dangerous driving and failure to stop after a fatal accident. He is scheduled to appear in court in August. None of the charges have been proven so far.
In a press release issued on Friday, investigators made a public call for witnesses who may have seen the collision or may have a video from the control panel camera of what happened. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
