A woman lit a fire near Kipling Underground Station; man in custody

A person has been arrested after a victim was set on fire near a Toronto traffic station in the early hours of Friday afternoon.

Police say they were originally called in the area of ​​Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street around 12:30 p.m. after receiving a report from a man assaulting a woman nearby.

According to investigators, a male spilled a liquid substance on a female and then ignited it.

TTC officers, as well as nearby citizens, assisted the victim and she was rushed to hospital. Police say his injuries are life-threatening.

A suspect has been arrested for the incident.

Subways were not running on Line 2 between Kipling and Islington stations on Friday afternoon, although officials have not said exactly where the incident took place.
